PHOTO ESSAY: eTown Hall hosts BIFF films

For the first time, the fabulous brand-spanking-new, ecologically sound, environmentally friendly eTown Hall was open for business during BIFF season. Nick and Helen Forster and all the other folks there helped us out, and we put on a number of great shows to packed houses.

The space, a renovated church (some of the pews remain), is intimate and acoustically perfect. We and the filmmakers and other guests had a wonderful time! And we hope you'll have us back. We locked up and everything. And nobody spilled anything!

PHOTO ESSAY: V.I.P. Filmmaker Reception

Were you there that Friday afternoon? Check and see! It took place, as usual, at the Bitter Bar at 835 Walnut, and featured our Closing Night guest Peter Fonda, filmmakers, top toffs, and some riffraff, just for leavening.

PHOTO ESSAY: Under the Big Top

Music, maestro!

Hi-de-ho, kids. The Tent went up on time and with a minimum of fuss, bigger and better than ever! Gradually, the Tent has come to house a variety of important functions at the festival. It is the H.Q. of the Information Booth --

and serves as our primary merchandising outlet as well!

This year, we added food sampling with some of the region's tastiest innovators --

who plied all of us with treats all weekend long! (The little burritos? The gluten-free cupcakes? Yeah.)

The swirl of action centered, as it is meant to, on the stage of the Call2Action end of the Tent.

Here directors, participants, activists, filmgoers, movers and shakers, and just plain curious folks all mingled together and addressed the issues raised by the films of BIFF 2013. In rapid succession, audiences, guests, and BIFF facilitators moved in and out, forming knots of discussion that lingered outside in the pleasant afternoon.
